SharePoint 2010: .htm file will not open

Topic	If you have tried to use your htm pages in SharePoint you will notice the page opens as a file Download.
Output	.htm files open in SharePoint 2010.

Step	Description
1	Go to Central Administration > Manage Web Applications
2	Click Web Application NAME > General Settings
3	Scroll down to Web Application General Settings choose Permissive

Note	Because of recent security concerns about .htm files it is best to leave strict Browser file handling selected. In this case you can just rename your .htm file to a .aspx file to view the web page normally in your browser.
